Women Help Line

Tripura Police Women Help Line (1091)

Tripura police introduced a toll free helpline, for women in distress to lodge their complaints, on 8th March 2014 to mark International Women's Day. The helpline   (1091) would be operational round-the-clock and anyone from across the state can dial the number to seek help or alert the police to an incident of violence or an imminent threat.

This helpline has been introduced in Tripura keeping in mind the increasing trends of violence against women. It is expected that this hepline will enable police to react very promptly  to help the women in distress before it could take serious shape. The helpline can  invariabley be well used either by the victim women herself or by any men/women acquiantance with the facts and circumstaces of the incident on her behalf.

The helpline service would also provide counselling to women, if required. A Bengali-speaking woman officer and another Kokborok speaking  (tribal dialect) would be available on the helpline 24/7.
